Frequently asked questions

Welcome to the FAQ page. Here you will find detailed information regarding the craftsmanship, quality, and logistics behind the original paintings and fine art prints by Isabelle de Brito. If you have further questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.

Original artworks

Are the artworks original?

Yes. Every original painting is a unique, one-of-a-kind work of art hand made by Isabelle de Brito. These pieces are developed using acrylics and experimental techniques on canvas. Once an original is sold, no other hand-painted version will be created.

Absolutely. Every original artwork includes a signed and dated Certificate of Authenticity (CoA). This document guarantees the provenance and value of your investment, confirming that the work is an original creation by Isabelle de Brito.

Unless otherwise stated in the product description, original canvases are sold “ready to hang” with painted edges, meaning they look beautiful both with or without an external frame. If you want me to arrange or advice you on framing a specific piece to match your interior, feel free to contact me and we will work it out.

Fine art prints (giclée quality)

What is the origin of the prints?

Every single fine art print in the collection originates from an original painting, hand-painted by Isabelle de Brito. The process begins on canvas using physical acrylics, textures, and experimental techniques.

To offer a wider variety of aesthetics, some artworks may be digitally refined or color-edited. This allows for unique colorways and variations while ensuring the organic soul and hand-painted brushstrokes of the original work remain the foundation of the print.

There is a significant difference in quality. While standard posters are often printed on thin paper with basic inks, my Fine Art Prints are produced to Museum Quality standards:

  • The paper: I use premium, acid-free 200 gsm / 80 lb matte paper. It has a heavy, luxurious feel and a smooth finish that eliminates glare, perfect for showcasing the details of the paint.

  • The ink: Printed using archival pigment inks (Giclée process), ensuring that the colors remain vibrant and do not fade for decades.

  • The result: A reproduction that captures the depth, texture, and nuances of the hand-painted original with exceptional clarity.

Yes. Quality and consciousness go hand in hand. My prints are printed on FSC-certified paper (or equivalent certifications), ensuring that the materials are sourced responsibly. Furthermore, by using a global network of professional print labs through Gelato, your order is produced locally to you. This significantly reduces carbon emissions by minimizing shipping distances.

Commissions & mural paintings

What types of projects do you accept?

I create site-specific artworks for a wide range of environments, including:

  • Private residences: Custom canvases or feature walls designed to complement your interior.

  • Corporate & office spaces: Murals that enhance brand identity and improve the work environment.

  • Property owners & developers: Large-scale exterior or interior art that adds value and character to buildings.

  • Public & municipal cectors: Public art for schools, hospitals, or urban spaces, following standard procurement and safety protocols (including MU-avtal standards where applicable).

Every project is unique, but the process usually follows these steps:

  1. Consultation: We discuss your vision, the site’s characteristics, and the budget.

  2. Sketching & concept: Based on our talk, I create a visual concept or digital mockup of how the art will look in the space.

  3. Finalization: Once the design is approved, we finalize the timeline and technical details.

  4. Execution: I paint the mural on-site. Depending on the scale, this can take anywhere from a few days to several weeks.

Pricing is calculated based on several factors:

  • Complexity & detail: The level of intricacy in the design.

  • Size: The total square footage of the surface.

  • Logistics: Costs for travel, accommodation (if outside the local area), and specialized equipment (e.g., scaffolding or a scissor lift).

  • Surface & materials: The type of wall and the specific paints or protective coatings required.

Note: For public art, I work within the framework of set budgets provided by the procurer.

For murals, the client is generally responsible for below. We can always negotiate to find a suitable solution together.

  • Ensuring the wall is clean, primed, and in good condition.

  • Providing access to water and electricity.

  • Arranging for any necessary permits or heavy equipment (lifts/scaffolding), unless otherwise agreed in the contract.

I use high-quality, professional-grade paints with excellent lightfastness.

  • Interior murals are very durable and can last as long as the wall itself.

  • Exterior murals are treated with protective coatings to withstand weather conditions and UV rays, ensuring the colors remain vibrant for many years.

As the artist, Isabelle de Brito retains the copyright to the design and images of the artwork. However, the client is granted the right to use and display the artwork in its intended location. For commercial usage rights (e.g., using the mural design for marketing or products), specific licensing agreements can be arranged.

Shipping & delivery

Where do you ship?

I offer worldwide shipping for both original paintings and fine art prints. No matter where you are located, we will find a way to get the art safely to your door.

To ensure fast and sustainable delivery, I use a professional global print network.

  • Local production: Your print is produced at the facility closest to your delivery address (available in 32 countries). This reduces shipping distances and carbon emissions.

  • Tracking: All print orders are sent with tracking, which will be provided to you as soon as the order leaves the production hub.

  • Packaging: Prints are shipped in robust, protective cardboard tubes or flat-packs to ensure they arrive in perfect condition.

Because original artworks are high-value and unique, the shipping process is more personalized:

  • Custom arrangements: For original paintings, shipping methods and costs are arranged individually after your purchase or inquiry. This allows us to find the most secure and cost-effective solution based on your specific location and the size of the piece.

  • Professional packing: Each original is carefully hand-packed in the studio using professional-grade protective materials to ensure safe transit.

  • Insurance: All original artworks are shipped with full insurance and a tracking number for your peace of mind.

  • Personal delivery: Within certain parts of Sweden, personal delivery or pickup can sometimes be arranged. Please contact me to discuss these options.

  • Fine art prints: Usually arrive within 5–10 business days (including 2–4 days for production).

  • Original paintings: Delivery times vary depending on the destination and the chosen courier, but typically take 1–2 weeks after the shipping method has been finalized.

    • For fine art prints: Since we print locally in many regions (EU, US, UK, etc.), most customers will not face customs fees.

    • For originals: As originals are shipped from Sweden, international buyers outside the EU are responsible for any local import duties or taxes that may apply upon arrival.

Returns & damages

What is your return policy?

  • Fine Art Prints: Every print is custom-made to order specifically for you. Because these are personalized, on-demand items, the statutory right of withdrawal does not apply, and we do not accept returns or exchanges. We encourage you to review the size guide carefully before purchasing.
  • Original paintings:

In accordance with EU/Swedish consumer law, I offer a 14-day return period for original paintings.
Important: The buyer is responsible for the full cost of return shipping, which must include professional packaging and full insurance coverage. The artwork must be returned in its original, unaltered condition.

I want you to be completely in love with your new artwork. To ensure you feel confident in your investment, we are happy to provide additional high-resolution photos or videos of the artwork upon request before purchase.

  • Commissions & murals: As these are bespoke services and custom creations, the right of withdrawal does not apply once the project has started.
  •

Orders for prints are sent to production almost immediately to ensure fast delivery. If you need to cancel, please contact us within 2 hours of placing your order. Once the production process has started, we are unable to cancel or refund the order.

We take great care in our packaging, but in the rare event of damage during transit, we will of course make it right.

  1. Document the damage: Take clear photos of the damaged packaging (before opening) and the artwork itself.

  2. Contact us: Email us within 48 hours of delivery.

  3. Resolution: For prints, we will arrange for a replacement to be sent to you free of charge. For original paintings, we will work with you and the insurance provider to find a solution, which may include professional restoration or a refund.

If your print has any technical defects (e.g., ink marks or incorrect cropping), please contact us with photos. Since we use Gelato’s professional labs, we can almost always trigger a “re-print” at no cost to you if the quality does not meet our high standards.
